    WELCOME !!!!    I’m so  honored and blessed to have a block in QUILTMAKER’S 100 BLOCKS VOL 9.  Be sure to follow the blog tour this week April 28 – May 2, and see what the many block designers have created for you!

 

 

     Here is CHERRY STARBURST.   Block #874 in Vol #9.  I LOVE (!) designing sampler blocks.  When I worked at a quilt shop, I taught many sampler block classes and have been a block fanatic since.

 

 

 

                I am almost finished making this quilt for PRAIRIE QUILT GUILD SHOW in June 2014.  This is actually a  computer-generated photo.  The nearly finished product is even more beautiful!

 

        EXTRA BONUS!   With the “stitch and flip” construction, there are these wonderful pieces left, just waiting to make something fab!

 

 

 

 

        I started laying out some of these, playing with a design.  I plan to make a small wall hanging for our PRAIRIE QUILT GUILD  MINI – AUCTION.   Have plenty to make one for myself too.

Block-of-the-Month Quilts go for good cause

 

                   I designed a block-of-month for my guild newsletter last year (now my pattern “SIMPLY SAMPLER”).

    Miss Vera (who also is a CASA volunteer)(and quite the overachiever) made four of these quilts and donated two for the CASA auction.  They sold for $500 and Vera was told they were going to a good home.

    Bless you, Vera, for all the ways you give of yourself to this cause.

   Aren’t quilters just the best!

   To Sharon Smith and her blue ribbon at the 2013 Kansas State Fair  (100th anniv of Ks State Fair)

    Sharon put her own spin the my new sampler, adding offset blocks of embroidered fruit trees.  Lovely workmanship!
